Research Psychologist

SUMMARY:
Responsible for developing research plans, create experiments to test their ideas, analyze data that derived from their experiments and to write reports explaining the results

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsible Areas

• Interview employees/contractors to learn about their experiences with incidents that create trauma or negative feelings, impact behavior, illness or disorder

• Conduct research on topics such as stress,drug abuse or deviant social behavior

• Analyze data and present findings to managers or relevant employees

• Provide counseling services to individual employees/groups on topics such as stress management,relationship building skills among others

• Develop intervention plans based on research findings in consultation with HR and relevant managers

• Survey development,focus group discussions and in-depth interview development,writing protocols,regulatory approvals, quantitative and qualitative analysis

• Participate and lead (where appropriate)protocol development,ethics applications and scientific reporting to management

• Work closely with the life coach of the company where necessary

Tasks

• Interpret data collected by other researchers including feedback from victims on the research methodology used in the study

• Follow policies and procedures during all phases of the study and process the required data

• Coach and mentor employees to cope with social pressures or deviant behaviors in support to line managers as and when required

• Manage and administer projects where required

• Conduct modeling,community health impact assessments

• Compile professional reports that meet applicable technical requirements

• Essential Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Psychology

  • Registered as a psychologist with the appropriate council

  • Registered with HPSCA

    • Strong research background in behavioural sciences related projects

    • Strong social and behaviour change communication experience

    • Demonstrable experience in designing, implementing, evaluating social and behavioural change projects

    • Experience in counselling and mentoring

      • In-depth knowledge and understanding of research methodology
