JOB SUMMARY:
Our client based in Knysna is seeking a suitably qualified and skilled Research and Development Engineer to join their dynamic team!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience (Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electronics industries are preferred).
Minimum relevant National Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
3D Design and FEA experience (Preferably SolidWorks).
CFD analysis for aerospace applications.
Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams to successful completion of projects.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software.
Ability to organize, prioritize and simplify complex problems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:

Component design and prototyping.
System and sub-system design, modelling, and prototyping.
Design for manufacturing and production.
Providing status reports and support documentation.
Implementing, overseeing, and maintaining industry standard engineering best practices and systems for product development.
Determining solutions to technical problems based on physics first principles and engineering fundamentals.
Helping develop junior team members’ skills by sharing relevant engineering knowledge and experience.
