Research and Development Engineer

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience (Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electronics industries are preferred).
• Minimum relevant National Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3D Design and FEA experience (Preferably SolidWorks).
• CFD analysis for aerospace applications.
• Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams to successful completion of projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and simplify complex problems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Component design and prototyping.
• System and sub-system design, modelling, and prototyping.
• Design for manufacturing and production.
• Providing status reports and support documentation.
• Implementing, overseeing, and maintaining industry standard engineering best practices and systems for product development.
• Determining solutions to technical problems based on physics first principles and engineering fundamentals.
• Helping develop junior team members’ skills by sharing relevant engineering knowledge and experience.
