SUMMARY:
Our client in the mining industry seeks a suitably experienced Resettlement Manager, to scope, engage, plan, budget and oversee implementation of the approved resettlement strategy, programme of work, associated with resettlement (economic displacement and/or physical displacement) ,livelihood restoration.
POSITION INFO:
The position is for the project management informed by the approved Life of Mine Plan.
The successful incumbent will ensure that the relevant skilled personnel, internal or external, are secured to undertake the resettlements in line with the Group''s Social Way and IFC Performance Standard 5 on Land Acquisition and Involuntary Resettlement and supporting guidance notes, as well consult with the Group''s Corporate Relations.
- Lead the development of effective resettlement strategies, action plans, for resettlement and livelihood restoration, and their manage their implementation.
- Responsible for ensuring that associated projects are delivered within timeframes, budgets, and quality standards and in a sustainable fashion.
- Lead assessment of land acquisition impact and implications and assess resettlement implications regarding cost and timelines
- This includes grave relocations . Give advice on resettlement at other mine sites.
- Review and refine RAPs & LRPs across sites
- Manage the proactive engagement and identification of community needs and risks
- This will be undertaken in conjunction with the Company''s Social Performance, projects and other HOD teams
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- MUST HAVE a Social Science Degree (Honours) , or development studies related degree such as Development Planning or other
- 8 to 10 years’ experience of resettlement and livelihood restoration
