Residential Finance Controller (EE) Contract Role - Cape Town

SUMMARY:
The Residential Finance Controller is responsible for carrying out internal financial controls and implementing the relevant policies and procedures to ensure complete, accurate, and timeous recording and reporting of revenue for the Residential Portfolio.

POSITION INFO:

Job Specification

Tenant Application Vetting

Compile and assess vetting application

Conduct application status tracking Recurring Billing, Invoices and Credit Notes

Raise recurring monthly billing

Raise manual billings requested by PM, actioned with approval of FM

Raise credit notes requested by PM, actioned with approval of FM Banking and daily receipting

Capture daily receipts (rentals and deposits) to MRI

Perform bank reconciliations

Collect debit order forms for all new tenants

Maintain and complete debit order static data information

Collate, manage, and submit the debit order run on a monthly basis

Ensure that all banking transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported

Maintain a good working relationship with corporate bankers Tenant Deposit Management

Capture tenant deposit in MRI

Prepare documentation for the investment of tenant deposits

Request for tenant bank investment account to be opened

Manage and reconcile tenant deposit ledger on a monthly basis

Record tenant interest on a monthly basis

Provide tenant deposit statements with backing documentation on an ad hoc basis

Complete the SODA process on MRI at the termination of the lease

Ensure the refund of deposits is completed on time in an accurate manner

Send tenant soda statement with pop to close off

Debtor’s Control

Monitor and report on age delinquency on a daily basis or as requested

Follow up on all outstanding amounts

Prepare and request sign-off of LOD after 7 working days

Issue LOD’s and follow up with tenants

Compile request for legal action after 30 days

Respond to tenant queries on invoice/statement requests on an ad-hoc basis

Ensure debtors ledger reconciles to general ledger Financial Reports

Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and reports

This includes reconciling trial balance to rent roll and subsidiary ledgers as well as preparing all balance sheet reconciliations within 3 working days of month-end

Preparing monthly journal for capturing data from MRI into JDE

Preparing and maintaining a complete and accurate month-end file with all relevant documentation and reconciliations for sign off by FM

Ensure that all reporting is compliant with statutory law and financial regulation Stakeholder Management

Ensure regular engagement with key internal customers and external stakeholders

Timeously address any queries and concerns in a professional manner Ad-hoc

Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Seek ways to streamline and improve daily operations and systems

Assist Senior Managers with presenting reports to Executives, Stakeholders, Board members 

Minimum Requirements
