Position: Resident Engineer, Northern Cape Area
Our client in the Engineering Industry is seeking a Resident Engineer to join their team in the Northern Cape Area.
Salary: R141000,00 per month
Government Certificate of Competency – Mines and Works - ESSENTIAL
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to: General Manager
Directly Responsible for: Safe installation, maintenance and operation of all equipment on the mine. Internal Stakeholders: General Engineering Superintendent, Foremen, Artisans, Assistants and Planned Maintenance Administrator.
External Stakeholders: All Service Providers
Purpose of the Job:
To lead the Engineering Department to ensure safe installation, maintenance, operation of equipment and to ensure compliance with relevant Legislation. To sustain optimal reliability and availability of the equipment and enabling the greatest value to be added to the profitability of the business.

Minimum Job requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Engineering
Government Certificate of Competency – Mines and Works - ESSENTIAL
Skills:
Sound knowledge of the theory and practice of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, together with an adequate working knowledge of Civil, structural, refrigeration and Instrumentation Engineering.
Must be able to do the work stipulated by the Mine Health and Safety Act to be done by an Engineer in general charge of machinery.
Experience:
5 to 10 years’ experience in supervision of various engineering skill disciplines including electrical, mechanical, civil and structural in a mining and works environment.
Technical Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to keep abreast with technological developments within the engineering environment. Computer literate MS Word, Excel and MS Projects.
Knowledge of maintenance management softwares.
Leadership Competencies:
Ability to lead diverse engineering teams.
Able to work under pressure.
