Retail Area Manager (fashion apparel)

SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Area Manager for the Footwear and Apparel division of a multinational brands business, with their offices based in Epping, Cape Town. The Area Manager will oversee all retail stores in the Cape Town region.

Area Manager (Retail Operations) - Reporting to the Head of Retail Operations

We are seeking an experienced Area Manager for the Footwear and Apparel division of a multinational brands business, with their offices based in Epping, Cape Town. The Area Manager will oversee all retail stores in the Cape Town region and will be responsible for strategically driving results to ensure that each store within the region achieves maximum sales, productivity and profit goals through effective leadership, communication, world class service, talent management, merchandising excellence and operational compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and control store expenses and assist stores to reach their budget.
• Liaise with Brand, Supply and Distribution departments to ensure that stock levels are maintained.
• Ensure replenishment is done on a weekly basis.
• Ensure effective promotion, markdown and sale implementations.
• Manage escalated customer queries/complaints.
• Recruitment, management, training, mentoring and development of staff.
• Responsible for store maintenance on a regular basis.
• Identify trends in the market that will improve and enhance the brand performance.
• Other key performance areas include driving turnover, maintaining satisfactory customer service levels, managing stock loss and ensuring the execution of the visual merchandising strategy in store.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Essential:  Matric
• Desirable: Relevant business/retail related tertiary qualification
• Essential:  3+ years relevant multi-site, retail store management experience
• Essential: Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
