Retail Manager

SUMMARY:
Retail Manager - Building / Construction

National client in the steel industry is on a recruitment drive for a retail manager to join their team in George. The ideal candidate must have knowledge within the steel environment, plumbing and / or fencing.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited:

• Opening and closing of the store
• Staff management - including training, mentoring and development, rosters (Saturdays), staff problems, etc.
• Stock management - ensuring sufficient stock for the store by working closely with the stock controller
• Working towards Targets as set by management
• Client / Customer management - developing and maintaining excellent customer service
• Driving and developing new business
• Store merchandising - ensure that the store merchandising is done to best display full range of products
• Promotions - ensure that all promotional items are well displayed, and promotional set-ups are done creatively
• General administration including weekly / monthly reports
• Any additional ad hoc duties as required by branch manager

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications:

• Matric coupled with retail and / or building diploma
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans
• Fully computer literate
• 3-4 years in retail industry (advantageous)
• Valid Driver's license
• Knowledge of steel / building / construction or plumbing - hugely advantageous
