Revenue Management Controller (Debtors Supervisor)

Our client, a leading Property Development and Property Management Company in East London, is seeking a Debtors Supervisor to take full responsibility for credit control, debt collection, and accounts receivable management. The ideal candidate will ensure timely tenant and client collections, manage reconciliations, and maintain a healthy debtor book to support sustainable cash flow.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full debtors/credit control function, ensuring accurate invoicing and timeous collections.
• Implement and maintain credit policies and procedures to minimize arrears, overdue accounts, and bad debt exposure.
• Perform credit checks on new tenants/clients and monitor ongoing account risk.
• Reconcile tenant and client accounts, resolve billing queries, and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Monitor and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) across the property portfolio.
• Prepare reports on age analysis, bad debts, collections progress, and arrears recovery.
• Negotiate payment plans and manage escalated debtors disputes with clients.
• Prepare and process write-offs, doubtful debts, and irrecoverable accounts in line with company policy.
• Maintain strong tenant and client relationships through regular communication and problem resolution.
• Collaborate with the finance, billing, and property administration teams to ensure accurate reporting of the accounts receivable ledger.

Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Credit Management (advantageous).
• 2+ years’ experience in debtors/credit control, debt collection, or accounts receivable (property industry experience highly beneficial).
• Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting and property management systems such as SAGE, MDA, MRI, or similar.

• Strong knowledge of debtors, credit control, arrears management, and debt recovery principles.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in account reconciliations.
• Confident communicator with excellent negotiation and client management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple debtor accounts and collections processes.
