Our client in the sanitation industry is seeking to employ a Rope Technician to join their team. Please note that this is a (fixed term contract).
Location: KwaZulu-Natal Umhlanga and Ballito.

Efficiency Staffing Solutions (Pty) Ltd Registration No. 2022\/876857\/07 Job Advert Roles and Responsibilities: High-Access Sanitation Maintenance: Perform cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation of high-rise buildings, silos, and other hard-to-reach structures using rope access techniques. Ensure proper sanitation of water tanks, pipelines, and ventilation systems at elevated locations. Safe Rope Access Operations: Use appropriate rope access methods (e.g., industrial abseiling) to access and perform sanitation work. Set up and inspect rigging, anchor points, and safety systems before commencing work. Equipment Inspection and Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE), harnesses, ropes, and sanitation tools. Report any faulty or damaged equipment to the relevant supervisor. Adherence to Health and Safety Regulations: Follow Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and South African Rope Access Association (SARAA) guidelines. Conduct risk assessments before each job and implement necessary safety measures. Use proper handling and disposal techniques for cleaning chemicals and waste. Emergency Preparedness and Rescue Procedures: Be trained in rescue techniques and assist in emergency evacuation or rescue operations if needed. Participate in emergency drills and refresher training sessions. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of completed sanitation tasks, inspections, and incidents. Submit daily or weekly reports to supervisors regarding work progress and safety compliance. Teamwork and Communication: Work closely with sanitation teams, safety officers, and site supervisors. Communicate effectively to ensure efficient workflow and hazard awareness among team members. Key Competencies: Technical Skills: Proficiency in rope access techniques (Level 1, 2, or 3 certifications preferred). Knowledge of industrial sanitation procedures and cleaning solutions. Familiarity with working at heights, confined spaces, and hazardous environments. Safety Awareness & Compliance: Strong understanding of safety protocols and risk management in rope access work. Knowledge of South African occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations. Physical Fitness & Stamina: High level of physical endurance to perform tasks at heights for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and manoeuvre heavy equipment. Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Ability to assess on-site challenges and adapt to changing environments. Quick decision-making skills in emergency situations. Attention to Detail: Precision in setting up safety equipment and performing sanitation tasks. Thorough inspection of work areas to ensure compliance with sanitation standards. Communication & Teamwork: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and coordination. Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and follow instructions from supervisors. Adaptability & Reliability: Willingness to work in various weather conditions and challenging environments. Dependability in completing tasks efficiently and adhering to work schedules. Experience & Qualification 2 to 3 years working experience. Valid medical and be medically fit Working from heights certification. Valid Rope technician certification.
