POSITION INFO:
A leading technology-driven organization is seeking a Ruby Developer to enhance its web and mobile platforms. This hybrid role, based in Cape Town, combines full-stack development with DevOps practices to ensure seamless deployment, scalability, and performance. You’ll work on innovative solutions that make cycling safer and more enjoyable for users worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable code using Ruby on Rails
Develop and maintain deployment and operational systems on AWS
Contribute to mobile app development using React Native for cross-platform compatibility
Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs
Collaborate with product teams to define and ship new features
Stay updated on emerging technologies and apply them to operations

Job Experience and Skills Required
Education:

Relevant diploma or degree in Computer Science or Software Development

Experience:

Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role
Strong knowledge of Ruby on Rails and common libraries (Devise, Omniauth, Rspec)
Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, Aurora Postgres, etc.)
Familiarity with front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (React or React Native)

Preferred:

Experience with React Native (advantageous)
Knowledge or interest in the cycling industry and bike security

Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Ability to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
