SAIPA Trainee Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our established firm based in Claremont, Cape Town is looking to employ a bright and independent trainee who wants to qualify as a Professional Accountant.

POSITION INFO:
Main Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Completion of all tasks necessary to gain sufficient exposure to the SAIPA Training Program competencies and related documentation over the period of traineeship to a SAIPA degree of expertise.
• Bookkeeping, accounting reports and related services.
• Assurance, review and compilation of Annual Financial Statements.
• Tax calculations, submissions of VAT201 and EMP201.
• Ad hoc related services (risk assessments, client advice, valuations).
• Any other related tasks.

• Completed a SAIPA accredited degree, e.g., BCom in Financial Accounting.
• Must reside in Cape Town.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
• Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Pastel will be beneficial.
• An understanding of basic accounting concepts.
• The willingness to learn, ask questions, and take ownership of tasks.
