Job Spec
Our Client in Cape Town requires a SAP ABAP Developer II for a contract role.
POSITION INFO:
The successful candidate will develop and maintain ABAP Programs and Functions as well as offer support to SAP Functional Analysts (FA) and/or Business Analysts (BA) related to the SAP Retail System. The SAP Retail system consists of the 5 SAP systems, namely Retail, GTS, Finance, Gateway, and CAR.
Qualifications
- 3 - year IT Programming degree/diploma
Experience
- 2-4 years SAP ABAP development with regards to any SAP module
- 2-4 years SAP ABAP development for the Retail module (Alternatively MM or SD module)
- 2+ years Programming in the Financial module
- 2-4 years SAP Fiori development
- Programming in the GTS module
Responsibilities
1. To develop ABAP programs and functions as requested by the Retail Department in accordance with the Organisation''s Standards
- Develop ABAP programs and functions
- Assist the Business Analysts (BA) with the capabilities of the SAP system when required
- Resolve incidents within SLA
- Do accurate timekeeping of time spent on changes
- Maintain the task management systems (Quality Center, Remedy and Jira)
- Do unit testing of changes made
- Supply the necessary Technical Specifications on new developments and keep up to date when doing major changes
- When approval is given transport change to the Q environment via Charm
- Ensure that the FA/TA test and sign-off the changes made in SAP Retail system
- Attend solution design meetings
2. To maintain ABAP programs and functions as requested by the Retail Department in accordance with the Organisation''s Standards
- Maintain ABAP programs and functions
- Maintain documentation of all changes made to the SAP Retail system
- Do accurate time keeping of time spent on changes
- Maintain the task management systems (Quality Center, Remedy and Jira)
- Do unit testing of changes made
- Update the necessary Technical Specifications on the relevant developments (if applicable) when doing major changes
- When approval is given transport change to the Q environment via Charm
- Ensure that the FA/TA test and sign-off the changes made in SAP Retail system
3. To provide support to the other members of the team as well as the SAP Retail Functional Analysts (FA) and/or Business Analysts (BA) on the SAP Retail System
- Assist the business users when necessary
- Assist the Functional Analysts with the capabilities of the SAP Retail system when required
