SUMMARY:
SAP PLANNER – 12 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT position available with our Client based in KZN – Hammarsdale
POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:
A position of a Planner (12 months fixed term contract) has arisen in the Operations Department based in the Hammarsdale area reporting to the Operations Manager.
Qualification:
- A BCom degree or equivalent in Supply Chain/Logistics is required.
Experience:
- SAP experience is essential
- Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in planning.
- A basic understanding of the chemical industry and product chemistry would be advantageous.
- Advanced knowledge of Production Scheduling, Demand Planning, Inventory Management and constraints principles.
- Good understanding of financial management principles, strategy implementation, inventory costing methodology and procedures, project portfolio management principles, supply chain fundamentals and relevant corporate governance requirements
- Current knowledge of relevant legislation (Incoterms & HTS)
- Advanced negotiation, conflict management and communication and influencing skills
- Risk assessment skills
- Leadership and management skills
- Ability to persuasively engage with senior and/or executive management
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Leading, directing and managing the Planning team in accordance with the global and local Supply Chain strategy.
- Ensuring processes and procedures comply with SHERQ and legal requirements.
- Ensuring that the Planning function is continually aligned to the Buckman Africa Code of Ethics.
- Effectively determine and manage raw material planning as per forecast requirements.
- Managing and coordinating direct Purchase For Resale (PFRs).
- Facilitating and managing the Order Status workgroup, production and drum out schedules to ensure that all Sales orders are processed and dispatched timeously to the Customer.
- Effectively communicating and fast-tracking challenges ensuring that Customers receive their orders on time.
- Resolving simple and complex coordination and customer service problems promptly within the ambit of responsibility.
- Developing agenda for both mini and executive S&OP meetings, actively participating and managing the meeting deliverables together with sales and operational managers.
- Analyzing and reporting the assumptions behind the demand plan, risks and opportunities and provide these as input into the S&OP process.
- Coordinating cross-functional teams (e.g. finance, supply planning, demand planning) to provide the required input into the monthly S&OP report pack.
- Analyze market trends, capacity constraints, and potential shortages to develop appropriate budgets and forecasts.
- Managing constraints within Supply Chain to optimize efficiencies.
- Analyze forecast and sales orders and work closely with the Production team to generate the plant production plan and drum out schedule.
- Set up and control the master data control process for finished goods in Baan.
- Managing imported material status, costing, documentation and legal compliance
- Managing and implementing Continuous Improvements and Projects for the department.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
A driver’s license is essential, advanced computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft packages and advanced knowledge of ERP systems is a necessity.
The successful candidate will be innovative and resourceful, able to handle pressure, an assertive problem solver with decision making abilities and a team member who is self-motivated. They must have good business acumen and be able to communicate at all levels, be organized and self-disciplined.
