SENIOR INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER REQUIRED

POSITION INFO:

We looking for a fulltime Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Network) in either Durban or JHB. To qualify for the role, the ideal candidate will have proven experience working in senior engineering role, with excellent knowledge of the latest industry technologies.

Objectives of the Role:

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will:

• Maintain the reliability and security of the companies global IT infrastructure, including voice, network, security and hosting elements.
• Assure ongoing IT infrastructure performance by building appropriate technical designs and configurations and providing escalation support for the infrastructure.
• Provide technical advice, recommendations and support to assist the sales teams in building proposals and designs for customer projects

• On-going Reporting and Monitoring

Must have

• 5 years+ of hands-on network engineering experience in a business focused environment
• 3 years+ experience working directly with business customers
• 1 years+ experience in providing documented infrastructure designs aligned to business requirements
• Proven understanding of networking protocols and configurations (e.g. BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS)
•  Proven understanding of monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
• Proven understanding of security features such as proxy, WAF, IPSEC / SSL VPN, IDS, and UTM services

• Strong oral and written communication skills, being able to articulate technical issues clearly
• Highly technical, with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Adaptability to a fast-paced dynamic global environment with an entrepreneurial atmosphere
