SHEQ Manager (Safety and Health)

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Mining Industry has an opportunity available for an SHEQ Manager (Safety and Health) to be based in the Rustenburg area.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• B-Tech in Safety Management or Degree in Environmental Management. Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering Degrees or National Diplomas will also be considered
• At least 8 Years prior practical experience in (Smelters/Mining/Heavy Engineering Industry) with at least 5 years relevant experience as Manager in the SHEQ fraternity, preferably in a SHEQ managerial position
• Additional Qualifications:
• Samtrac
• COMSOC 1, 2, and 3
• ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 (Implementation, Auditor and Lead Auditor)
• Legislation (COID, ODIMWA, OHSA and MHSA)
• NEBOSH
• Knowledge of Environmental legal compliance requirements:
  
  • Atmospheric emission license
  • Water use licenses
  • Waste licenses
  • EMP - mines

KPAs:

• Manage SHEQ compliance within the Department through effective use of the Toolbox
• Direct and coordinate the reporting and investigation of Significant Incidents
• Keep the site abreast with relevant Legislative changes and ensure site wide legislative compliance
• Facilitate internal and external SHEQ Audits and monitor and report closure on Site Audit findings
• Maintain ISO and OHSAS Certification
• Lead the SHEQ strategic direction
• Monitor Behaviour in line with Expectations
• Conduct internal Risk Audits
