POSITION INFO:
Employer Description A well-established legal practice based in the George CBD, handling a range of legal matters with a strong focus on litigation as well as conveyancing and property-related work. Job Description Our client is seeking a versatile and experienced Legal Secretary to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the practice and will need to be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the day-to-day running of the office. You will be responsible for: Providing comprehensive legal secretarial support. Drafting pleadings and assisting with litigation matters. Managing correspondence, documentation and administrative processes. Assisting with conveyancing matters, including bonds and transfers. Liaising with clients, banks and other relevant parties. Managing incoming and outgoing documents and deliveries. Assisting with the general running and organization of the office. Ensuring that the office remains efficiently managed when the attorneys are attending to matters outside the office. Qualifications Diploma in Legal Secretarial Studies \/ Paralegal Diploma or relevant qualification will be advantageous. Skills The successful candidate will have: Minimum 3 years' experience as a Legal Secretary. Strong experience in general legal secretarial duties. Solid litigation experience, including drafting pleadings and related documentation. Experience dealing with matters for major banking institutions will be advantageous. Some conveyancing experience, particularly bonds and transfers, will be advantageous. Fluent in English and Afrikaans. Excellent organizational and administrative skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. A proactive and hands-on approach to office administration. Must be comfortable managing deliveries, collections and general office requirements.
