An opportunity exists for an experienced SOFTWARE DEVELOPER & CYBER SECURITY SPECIALIST to join a well-established national organisation operating within the engineering, capital equipment and industrial services environment based in Gauteng. This role will suit a technically strong professional who is equally comfortable with software development, systems integration, databases, cloud environments and cyber security governance. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing and supporting internal applications while ensuring the integrity, availability and security of the company''s information systems and digital assets. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Software Development Design, develop, test and maintain internal software applications and systems. Develop APIs and interfaces between ERP, CRM and operational platforms. Support mobile, web-based and cloud applications. Participate in software architecture and systems improvement initiatives. Troubleshoot application performance and software-related issues. Maintain technical documentation and change control procedures. Assist with automation and business process improvements. Cyber Security & Infrastructure Implement and maintain cyber security policies, procedures and best practices. Monitor systems for vulnerabilities, suspicious activity and cyber threats. Conduct security assessments and risk analyses. Manage endpoint security, firewalls and access controls. Support backup, disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Ensure compliance with data protection and information security standards. Investigate and resolve security incidents and breaches. Manage user permissions and identity management systems. Databases & Systems Maintain SQL databases and optimise performance. Support ERP, CRM and third-party systems. Ensure system integrations function correctly. Monitor server health, cloud environments and network performance. Assist with reporting, dashboards and data analytics initiatives. Business Support Provide technical support to internal stakeholders. Work closely with finance, operations, workshop, fleet and management teams. Recommend technology improvements and digital transformation initiatives. Manage external software vendors and service providers where required. Participate in strategic IT projects and future system developments. EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cyber Security or related field. Minimum 5-10 years relevant experience in software development and IT systems. Strong experience with: C# .NET Framework \/ .NET Core ASP.NET SQL Server REST APIs JavaScript HTML\/CSS Git Experience with cloud technologies (Azure or AWS advantageous). Knowledge of: Microsoft 365 Administration Active Directory Virtualisation environments Network security Endpoint protection solutions Firewalls MFA and identity management Backup and disaster recovery solutions Exposure to cyber security frameworks and standards advantageous: ISO 27001 NIST CIS Controls Knowledge of SIEM tools and security monitoring advantageous. Experience with Power BI, ERP or asset management systems advantageous. Understanding of database administration and reporting tools. Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
