Our client is a well-established and highly successful corporate commodity trading company, specialising in international physical deliveries. Operating in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, the business relies on robust database management and accurate reporting to support decision-making and operations.
They are seeking a skilled SQL Administrator / SQL Developer to manage and optimise their SQL environment while supporting reporting, data analysis, and internal system performance.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Monitor database performance, security, and system health
- Manage backups, recovery processes, and disaster recovery solutions
- Develop and maintain T-SQL scripts, queries, and stored procedures
- Perform performance tuning on queries and database structures
- Troubleshoot and resolve database and data-related issues
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards based on business requirements
- Extract, analyse, and validate data for accuracy and completeness
- Support internal users with data queries and reporting needs
- Investigate system issues and implement effective solutions
- Document processes, systems, and changes
- Escalate and resolve technical problems where required
Requirements- Relevant Degree or National Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in SQL Database Administration and Development
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2012 / 2017 / 2019)
- Solid T-SQL scripting and database management skills
- Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and database security
- Exposure to performance tuning, log shipping, and disaster recovery
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
