CLIENT in the MINING INDUSTRY requires the services of a SUPERINTENDENT COMMODITY SLP QUANTITY SURVEYING at their plant in the WEST RAND as soon as possible

- NQF 6 (Diploma or Advanced Certificate) in relevant field
The Appointee should:
|
- At least 6 years'' supply chain or commercial experience, of which 4 years should have been in commodity management or procurement within the mining industry
- SAP MM knowledge and experience essential
- Quantity surveyor experience in estimations and cost advise with an understanding of contractual agreements.
- Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
- Clear security screening record.
- Valid driver''s license (if applicable).
Advantageous Qualifications:

- NQF 7 (Bachelor''s Degree or Advanced Diploma) will be advantageous.
- Quantity Surveyor Qualification would be advantageous.
- ASAQS registered will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:

- Stakeholder Management
- • Act as an interface between suppliers and business stakeholders to provide expert advice on commodity management. Customer Relations: • Develop and manage customer relationships to meet business objectives.
- • Liaise with a range of customers.
- • Handle and attend to a range of customer complaints.
- Supplier Relations:
- • Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships to meet business objectives.
- • Foster and maintain supplier relations.
- • Handle and attend to a range of supplier complaints.
- Source-to-Settle Strategy
- • Drive agreed SLP in relation to Quantity surveying sourcing strategies for assigned commodities suppliers, achieving lowest possible total cost for material and equipment.
- • Provide Quantity surveyor support in estimations and cost advise.
- • Provide understanding of Quantity surveying contractual agreements.
- • Analyze value chains and consumption patterns which will identify total cost of ownership.
- Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
- • Review spends data and trends to identify improvement opportunities. • Determine business requirements and draw up suitable Commodity Strategies.
- • Identify cross-functional teams to participate in commodity initiatives.
- • Obtain a mandate from Leadership teams to implement Commodity Strategies.
- • Implement Commodity Strategies in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
- • Monitor the implementation of Commodity Strategies against set targets and take corrective action (in conjunction with relevant stakeholders).
- • Manage the continuous improvement of Commodity Strategies (in conjunction with relevant stakeholders).
- Tenders
- • Analyse the Procurement Operating Plan (POP) to determine value and risk of service or goods required.
- • Analyse Scopes of Work and pre-tender Risk Assessments and make suitable recommendations.
- • Compile tender packs.
- • Coordinate the tender process.
- • Compile and issue tender documentation (Scope of Work, Technical specs/drawings, etc.).
- • Shortlist potential suppliers/vendors and invite to tender briefings (Conditions, plant visits, Scope of Work, Deadlines, etc.).
- • Receive and open tenders (in conjunction with Tender Opening Committee).
- • Evaluate and adjudicate tenders and recommend suitable suppliers/vendors (in conjunction with Tender Adjudication Committee). • Develop TCO models (in conjunction with cross-functional team) to establish tender benefits and set milestones.
- • Liaise between potential vendors and internal customers (plant visit to clarify SOW, etc.).
- • Award tenders and finalise Purchase Contracts.
- Contract Management & Administration
- • Draft Sourcing contracts and agreements.
- • Review changes to terms and conditions of existing contracts (Price adjustments, etc.).
- • Administer terms and conditions of existing contracts (Price adjustments, etc.).
- • Communicate contract finalization and amendments to • relevant stakeholders.
- Projects
- • Participate in the estimation and preparation of cost budget for a project or sub project and monitor and control actual cost against budget.
- • Work as a project team member.
- • Plan, organize and support project meetings and workshops.
- • Conduct project documentation management to support project processes.
- • Assist in implementing and assuring project work meets quality requirements.
- • Transfer Best Practices to other areas of the business.
