POSITION INFO:

Introduction

Our client in the Logistics and Supply Chain industry is hiring a Systems Engineer.

This is a full time, on site role.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of the organisation’s technology infrastructure. The role ensures systems are optimised for performance, availability, and scalability, supporting operational efficiency and innovation

Duties & Responsibilities

Systems Infrastructure Support

Maintain and support the organisation’s servers, networks, and systems
Ensure high availability and optimal performance of systems
Perform routine maintenance and upgrades

Systems Implementation and Integration

Support implementation of new systems and ensure smooth integration with existing platforms
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Evaluates the existing systems and provides the technical direction to IT support staff.
Plans and implements system automation as required for better efficiency.
Oversees the development of customised software and hardware requirement.

Security and Compliance

Ensure systems meet security standards and protocols
Work with the IT team to manage firewalls, backups, and data security policies

Documentation and Support

Develop and maintain system documentation
Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams
Assist with system training rollouts alongside the Training and Induction Specialist

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum - NQF Level 7 – Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

Advantageous - Microsoft, Cisco, or cloud-related certifications

Minimum - 5+ Years'' experience in a systems or infrastructure engineering role

Advantageous - Experience in logistics or supply chain environments Oracle//We Think//Sage

Knowledge

Systems architecture and administration

Networking protocols and infrastructure

IT security principles

Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.)
