SUMMARY:

Our client in the civil engineering industry is seeking a SACMCMP Registered Safety Manager to join their company in East Rand, Gauteng

POSITION INFO:
Position: Safety Manager (SACPCMP)
Location: East Rand, Gauteng
Salary Range: R 30 000.00 – R 33 000.00 CTC pm

The successful incumbent will be responsible for:

To coordinate and supervise the implementation Occupational H & S program, designed to prevent injury, occupational illness, and damage to property
Maintain safety related manuals, including distribution of appropriate updates
Plans & Schedules in health and safety
Maintain register and data base of employee safety training, medical examinations, licenses, and certifications
Conducted Site inspections
Identify potential hazards and safety issues and assist Supervisor to deal with at the site level if not able then escalated to next level of management
Conducting Sub-Contractor Health and Safety Audits to ensure that all the required minimum documents for a Safety File is handed in at the Safety Department and they are monitored or update time to time
Compile Audit Action Tracking Register Reports and Weekly Reports with the corrective action and deviation taken
Maintaining Keeping Records on the Incidents registers
Conducting of Health and Safety committee Meetings and the Sub-Contractors Meetings including construction meetings
Calculation of man-hours and updating the stats for the Project
Ordering and controlling issuing of PPE and safety materials
Issuing of Work Permits to area Supervisors for performing critical activities

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

SACPCMP REGISTRATION REQUIRED
National Diploma or Relevant qualification in OHS
5 – 10 years’ experience in OHS
2-3 years’ experience in Management position
