We are seeking a qualified Safety Officer with a strong background in the manufacturing and engineering industry. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in safety audits, compliance with ISO standards and compilation of safety files.

This role requires a proactive individual who can implement and monitor safety protocols, conduct comprehensive audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a safe working environment.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, conduct, and document safety audits and inspections of a manufacturing and engineering facility to identify potential hazards, assess compliance with safety regulations, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to ISO standards, specifically in relation to safety protocols.
• Compile and maintain safety files, ensuring that all necessary documentation, reports, and records are accurate, up-to-date, and readily accessible.
• Implement measures to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant safety standards.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees.
• Lead and participate in investigations of safety incidents, near misses, and accidents. Identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and provide recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
• Work closely with engineering, operations, and other departments to integrate safety measures into processes and projects.
• Provide guidance on safety considerations during the planning and execution of manufacturing/engineering activities.
• Proactively identify opportunities for safety improvements and implement initiatives to enhance the overall safety performance of the organization.
• Utilise data from audits and incidents to drive continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

• Qualification in Health and Safety. 
• Proven experience as a Safety Officer in the manufacturing/engineering industry.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO standards and their application to safety management.
• Experience in conducting safety audits and compiling comprehensive safety files.
• Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry-specific standards.
