Job title: Safety Officer

Location: On-site at Mine (North-west province , 30 mins from Sun city, 60 mins from Rustenburg)

Salary: R35 000-40 000/month, dependent on experience and qualifications

Vacancy type: Full-time

Duties:

• Implement and monitor the mine’s Safety, Health, Environment, and Community (SHEC) management plan
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and environmental legislation
• Maintain and update SHEC registers, incident logs, and safety statistics
• Facilitate toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for employees and contractors
• Liaise with the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) and community representatives
• Promote environmental best practices and drive community engagement initiatives

Requirements:

• National Diploma or Certificate in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Must have experience in the mining operations
• Minimum 10+years’ experience of relevant experience
• Solid knowledge of MHSA, environmental, and occupational health & safety regulations
• SAMTRAC, COMTRAC is required in SHEC roles (preferably in mining or industrial environments
• Preferably currently holding a legal appointment in the present company
• Must be willing to reside or relocate near the mine site
