Safety Officer - Opencast

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Maintenance Sector, has an opportunity available for a Safety Officer - Opencast to be based in the Rustenburg area.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Matric/Grde 12.
• A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Management would be an advantage
• Done SAMTRAC/NEBOSH, HIRA, Legal Liability, Incident Investigation and other related OHS courses
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a HSE Practitioner on a construction site with open cast Mining experience.
• Must understand the implementation of health and safety systems in line with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
• Computer literate
• Valid driver''s license

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for Health, Safety & Environmental Management.
• Liaise with all stakeholders, do HSE reporting and ensure that all HSE systems and requirements are standardised and controlled.
• Do all accident and incident investigations and do internal HSE audits on all the sites.
• Develop the Group HSE initiatives into action plans and train/mentor the HSE Practitioners on the various sites.
