JOB SUMMARY:
Safety Officer - Registered with SACPCMP as a Health and Safety Officer (Proof of Registration is required)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position will be site based in Inanda so only open for residents in the Inanda area of KZN

Essential requirements - Registered with SACPCMP as a Health and Safety Officer

8 to 10 years experience as Safety Officer gained on large building projects is essential

Duties:

Responsible for all health and safety concerns pertaining to the company
Responsible for continual improvement of the OHS system
Performance monitoring
Advise top management on industry best practices and implementation thereof
Compile, implement and maintain a safety, health and environment training matrix to ensure trained and competent employees
Compile a training needs analysis in the department and co-ordinate training (i.e. First Aid, Fire Fighting, Legal Liability, Scaffolding, Working at heights etc.)
Keeping abreast of OHS legislation & informing Directors and relevant parties
Conducting employee inductions, training and awareness workshops as and when required
Conduct and compile risk assessments
Ensure hazards are kept to a minimum and actioned promptly
Draft policies on Health and Safety related matters as the need arises

This will be a site based position on a building site in the Inanda area
