Sales Director - Agriculture

SUMMARY:

A well-established manufacturer of plant and animal nutrition is seeking a well-experienced Sales Director to meet revenue growth objectives, and lead and mentor the Sales Team to meet all required KPI’s.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Agriculture
• At least 8-10 years Commercial / Sales Management experience will be required
• Must have excellent written, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Above-average communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, including farmers, will be required
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel extensively

• Developing and executing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans.
• Manage and mentor the existing sales team by improving sales in the respective regions.
• Identifying new high potential regions and developing a suitable sales team structure.
• Performing KPI analysis of the sales team.
• Ensuring annual sales targets, as set by management, are reached/exceeded.
• Developing and executing strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.
• Partnering with all stakeholders to understand the business needs and objectives.
• Assisting in building a distributor network throughout the country.
• Effectively communicating the value proposition through proposals and presentations.
• Understanding micro-economic and macro-economic trends and developing strategies to mitigate risks and maximize business opportunities.
• Defining and developing key sales strategies and techniques around the product offering, focusing on a premium product in a mass market economy.
• Preparing the annual sales budget and continuous update of the sales forecast.
• Maintaining and communicating the monthly price list.
• Providing detailed reporting and feedback to management regarding monthly sales vs budget vs forecast.
