SUMMARY:
Our client in the bulk materials handling equipment industry is seeking a Sales Engineer to join them in Randburg.

The Sales Engineer combine’s technical knowledge with sales skill to sell the companies’ equipment and engineering solutions to existing and prospective customers. The Sales Engineer needs to ensure that the customers’ needs are always met. The Sales Engineer needs to be a team player as regular interdepartmental interactions may take place during the costing and quotation period. These include but are not limited to the design, manufacturing, buying and senior company managers

POSITION INFO:
Job Title: Sales Engineer
Geographical area: Randburg, Gauteng
Salary range: R 30 000.00 - R 35 000.00 + Benefits

The successful incumbent will be responsible for:

Maintain existing business and generating new business by prospecting and cold calling
Develop and grow long-term relationships with customers.
Understanding the company product capabilities and/or functionalities
Interpret and manage all the customer and project specific requirements and that customer requests are responded to within 48 hours.
Liaising with the internal team and other technical experts, in finding a solution for a customer enquiry.
Calculate and ensure that all cost sheets are accurate and filled in correctly.
Ensure that all quotes and drawings are checked, verified, and correct
Presenting technical presentations
Negotiating tender and contract terms
Update the quotes, jobs, orders, and new customer details
Offering after-sales support for customers where and when needed.
Travelling to visit existing and potential new customers
Attendance and participation at exhibitions
Market research

Minimum qualifications and experience:

A recognizable Engineering, Technical or Commercial qualification.
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position working with projects and selling material handling equipment will be advantageous.
