SUMMARY:
Open Cast Mining Sales Engineers — Ready to Sell Big Equipment?

POSITION INFO:
A respected supplier of specialised equipment to the mining industry is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to drive capital equipment sales into open-cast mining operations.
This role is suited to a technically strong sales professional who understands mining environments, heavy equipment applications, and the long sales cycles associated with large capital projects.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

Proven experience selling capital equipment into open-cast mining operations
Strong understanding of surface mining equipment and applications
Ability to engage with mine management, engineering teams, and procurement
Proven track record of closing high-value technical sales
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to mining sites

Job Experience & Skills Required

Identify and develop new equipment sales opportunities within open-cast mining operations
Build and maintain strong relationships with mine management and engineering teams
Conduct site visits to assess operational requirements
Prepare technical proposals and commercial quotations
Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to project close
Maintain pipeline reporting and sales forecasting

A tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Mining, or Industrial Engineering will be advantageous.
