Sales Executive

An opportunity for an experienced Sales Executive with strong freight forwarding and import/export industry knowledge to drive new business growth.

POSITION INFO:
A global logistics organisation is seeking a mid-level Sales Executive with proven freight forwarding and import\/export industry experience for a 12 month contract. The role is focused on developing new business and selling freight forwarding and import\/export services relating to the movement of cargo. Responsibilities Develop new business opportunities for freight forwarding and import\/export services within the South African market. Sell cargo movement solutions aligned with clients'''' import and export requirements. Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities to grow market share. Identify specific customer requirements and provide logistics solutions aligned with their cargo movement needs. Prepare quotations, tenders, bids, Requests for Quotation and Requests for Information in line with customer requirements. Conduct cold calling and other new-business development activities. Develop and exchange sales leads with international operations. Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. Achieve agreed sales targets. Support process innovation and continuous improvement. Requirements Matric Exemption. Minimum 5 years'''' relevant sales experience. Non-negotiable : Direct sales experience within freight forwarding, shipping lines and import\/export processes. Strong working knowledge of freight forwarding, import\/export and cargo movement processes. Advantageous : Previous operational experience within freight forwarding and\/or import\/export. Proven ability to sell freight forwarding and import\/export solutions to clients. Strong business acumen and analytical ability. Competent in the Microsoft Office Suite, with basic Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong numerical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
