Responsibilities of the Job:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the incumbent will be responsible for high level strategic planning, the promotion, sales and support of the company’s products to key senior end-users and distributors.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  •  Proven track record for successful high-level sales negotiations

  •  Developing relationships with senior existing and new customers  Identifying and calling on prospective end-users to get the products specified

  •  Supporting customers with training, site assessments, recommendations, etc

  •  Negotiating commercial terms e.g. pricing, delivery, etc, with customers

  •  Advising customers of product developments and special promotions

  •  Representing the company at exhibitions, events and demonstrations

  •  Recording all interactions with customers

  •  Maintaining a database of customers

  •  Gathering market, competitor and customer information

  •  Analyzing sales statistics and determining sales potential and inventory   requirements

  •  Acquiring product knowledge

  •  Meeting or exceeding sales targets

  •  Compiling regular sales reports

  •  Manage customer sales complaints

    Formal Training, Experience Required and Key Qualities

    The candidate must preferably (not essential) have a tertiary qualification in sales/marketing or similar and experience in the industrial market.

    The candidate must have an excellent understanding of the Rail industry and have good knowledge of the products. 

    The following products are an example:

  • Aluminothermic Welding.
  • Condition Monitoring.
  • Electrification Equipment.
  • Fastening Systems.
  • On-track Equipment.
  • Personnel Track Safety Equipment.
  • Signalling Solutions.
  • The candidate must have good, basic Microsoft office skills.

    The candidate should be self-motivated; have good communication skills, both written and verbal; have a proven record of good negotiation skills and be innovative and persuasive; be outgoing, energetic and confident.
