SUMMARY:
Sales Representative required to join a well known Waste and Environmental Management Company. Required to have sales experience in the service industry along with own vehicle. To motivate the sales staff to ensure improved sales. Grow the market share in line with the strategic plan. Ensure that KPI’s are met by the sales division.

POSITION INFO:

Main objectives:

  • To ensure that the most possible waste gets diverted from landfill
  • To be responsible for the Health and Safety of all staff
  • To increase Gross Revenue while achieving correct or improved margins
  • To be responsible for the image of the company being kept to international standards
  • Ensure that all legislative requirements are met
  • To be a proud representative of the company and seek out and report any opportunities to management.
  • To act in a professional manner at all times.
  • To communicate effectively by reporting all incidents, accidents and or any other information related to safety, health or environment.

 

Safety, Health, Quality and Environment Responsibilities:    

  • To have knowledge and adhere to the companies intentions as stated in the Environmental Policy, Health and Safety Policy and Quality Policy
  • To report all customer complaints and compliments to the appropriate person
  • To report any possible health and safety risks that could affect other staff members
  • To report any  incidents or near misses to the compliance department
  • To fully understand and implement the emergency plan and to respond accordingly when required
  • To ensure that all hazardous and high risk tasks are identified and mitigating actions are implemented to reduce such risk.
  • To divert maximum amount of waste away from landfill 

 

Key Performance Aresa:

  • To reach and maintain all KPI targets
  • Ensure that customer service continuously improves
  • Improve quotes completed VS quotes won ratio ie grow client base

 

 

Task:

  • Check and respond to all your emails and any other correspondence
  • Ensure that the correct service is sold for the application
  • Ensure that the correct waste is placed in the correct container
  • Ensure that all waste is classified before quoting the customer
  • Complete waste profile sheets before quoting customer
  • Arrange for collection of samples and MSDS’s from the customer
  • Wear PPE as and when required by customers
  • Complete customer surveys on a monthly basis
  • Communicate all risks and requirements to all operational departments that will be working on site
  • Ensure that you receive a scope of work on all industrial services related work
  • Ensure that a Risk assessment and all other relevant paperwork is completed before work commences
  • Look for new recycling opportunities
  • Comply with any requirements a customer might have
  • Motivate staff
  • Ensure that all staff have and wear appropriate PPE
  • Ensure that all on site staff adhere to policies of the company as well as the policies of the client
  • Send quotes out to customers within 2 hours of phoning in – Exception only excepted if pre-agreed with team leader
  • Do minutes for all meetings with clients that you attend

 

  • Ensure that the KPI report is completed on a monthly basis
  • Ensure that all pending quotes are followed up
  • Undertake all duties and tasks as prescribed from time to time by your Superior.
  • Report delays/breakdowns/road conditions or incidents to clients and or affected VES staff.
  • Establish new service offerings and always look for ways to expand the business
  • To check for any specific instructions that a customer may require.
  • Resolve customer queries
  • Increase profit margins where possible
  • Provide direction, instructions and guidance to the sales team for the purpose of achieving a certain goal.
  • Establish all sales team members strengths, weaknesses and motivations
  • Develop a strategy the team will use to reach its goal (include sales team in the process)
  • Provide guidance to sales team when and if required
  • Communicate clear instructions (from management) to sales team
  • Listen to team members'' feedback and react appropriately
  • Monitor team members'' participation to ensure the strategy provided is being put into use, and also to see if any additional training is needed
  • Manage the flow of day-to-day operations
  • Create reports to update the company on the sales team''s progress
  • Distribute reports to the sales team and management
  • Motivate and inspire team members
  • Facilitate problem solving and collaboration
  • Ensure discussions and decisions lead toward closure
  • Intervene when necessary to aid the group in resolving issues
  • Recognise and celebrate team and team member accomplishments and exceptional performance
  • Establish meeting times, places and agendas
  • Provide status reporting of team activities against targets
  • Keep management informed of task accomplishment, issues and status
  • Escalate issues which cannot be resolved by the team
  • To carry out disciplinary action and counselling should it be required
  • To interact with the different departments to resolve issues or to come up with ways in which to facilitate a more innovative service
