SUMMARY:

A multinational agricultural company is seeking the above to develop and direct regional business strategies to achieve the agreed profit and volume goals for the relevant channel partner(s) and region, consistent with overall sales and marketing strategy and functioning as first-line contact with the customer (dealer, agent, grower) in terms of technical support, recommendations and training.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a degree in Agriculture, Marketing, Business Administration or Sales, or equivalent
  • Minimum three years’ experience within the agricultural industry will be required
  • Must have broad technical know-how of crops, products and farming practices
  • A good understanding of the business, key account management, the market and how to add customer value is important
  • Must have hands-on experience in developing and implementing sales strategies and plans
  • Knowledge of key financial and marketing concepts and principles is essential
  • Sound business acumen, communication skills and negotiating ability will be required

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and directing regional business strategies consistent with overall marketing and sales strategy.
  • Developing market information, budgets, forecasts, business plans and partnership agreements.
  • Identifying, defining, establishing and maintaining influential relationships with relevant institutes and key crop value opinion leaders.
  • Focusing resources on growers and key influencers in the food/feed chain – creating pull approaches.
  • Building relationships in value chain (identify the lead influencers).
  • Identifying key crop, product and market opportunities and threats.
  • Supporting agents and growers with technical solutions on all aspects of key crop production.
  • Investigating and managing complaints/ claims to minimise financial loss.
  • Developing the competence, motivation and commitment of Dealers and Agents through effective training, promotion and sales support aids.
  • Keeping abreast of market, trade and competitor activity in order to revise strategies to meet changing requirements.
  • Ensuring market information accuracy in iPlan for allocated crops.
Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
