Job Specification: Sales Representative (Marine & Boat Sales) Position Title Sales Representative – Marine & Boat Sales Location Vaal Triangle \/ Gauteng (with travel as required) Employment Type Permanent Reporting To Sales Manager \/ Business Owner Remuneration Basic Salary: R10,000 per month Commission Structure: 10% commission on boat sales (outgoing sales) 15% commission on sourced boats that are successfully sold (bringing boats into stock and facilitating the sale) Position Summary An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and results-driven Sales Representative with a strong marine background to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing quality boats, building relationships with boat owners and buyers, generating sales, and growing the company's presence in the marine industry. The ideal candidate will possess a sound understanding of boats, marine equipment, and the boating lifestyle, with previous boat sales experience being highly advantageous. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Actively promote and sell boats to prospective clients. Generate leads through networking, referrals, digital platforms, and industry events. Conduct customer needs analyses and recommend suitable vessels. Arrange and conduct viewings, demonstrations, and sea trials where applicable. Negotiate sales agreements and close transactions. Sourcing Boats Identify and secure quality boats for resale. Build relationships with boat owners, marinas, yacht clubs, and marine service providers. Assess vessels and gather information required for resale marketing. Ensure accurate pricing and valuation recommendations. Customer Relationship Management Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients. Provide professional after-sales support. Handle customer queries and objections professionally. Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the sales process. Marketing & Promotions Assist in creating advertisements and social media content. Ensure boats are presented professionally for sale. Promote stock through online and offline channels. Attend boat shows, exhibitions, and industry events as required. Administration Maintain accurate customer and sales records. Complete sales documentation and agreements. Prepare weekly sales activity reports. Update inventory and client databases. Minimum Requirements Qualifications Grade 12 (Matric). Relevant sales qualification advantageous. Experience Minimum 2 years' sales experience. Marine industry experience essential. Boat sales experience highly advantageous. Proven track record in achieving sales targets. Knowledge Strong understanding of: Boats and marine equipment. Marine safety requirements. Boat ownership and maintenance considerations. Customer sales processes and negotiation techniques. Skills & Competencies Technical Skills Boat and marine product knowledge.
