Sales Representative Turf Grass

SUMMARY:

An international supplier of Crop Seed is seeking a dynamic Representative to implement the sales and marketing strategy of the consumer division with respect to Professional Grass products and services, by liaising with game farmers, groundsmen, landscapers, and golf course developers on a nation-wide basis.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a B.Sc degree in Botany with exposure to Grassland Science/Turf Grass
• Previous sales experience would be an advantage
• Must be computer literate
• Above-average communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, including farmers, Product Specialists and Breeders will be required
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel

• Implementing the product, marketing and sales strategy for Professional Grass-Product Development and trials.
• Managing key accounts.
• Liaising with suppliers.
• Delivering presentations to interest groups e.g. industry meetings.
• Planning of inventory and initiating stock purchases in time for the season.
• Providing advice regarding grass applications and grass mixes (leisure, rehabilitation of soil, professional sport applications) to key customers (landscapers, green-keepers, sport stadium managers, parks and grounds etc).
• Attending trade shows, exhibitions and industry association meetings.
• Managing sales and expense budgets for the Professional Grass portfolio.
