Sales and Marketing Manager

SUMMARY:
Our well established client in the fishing industry has an exciting opportunity for a Sales and Marketing Manager to join their company based in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha.  If you have an outgoing personality and have sales experience within the Seafood Industry, this position might be just for you!

POSITION INFO:
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND OUTPUTS
Product Sales

• The factory is kept fully informed as to current & changing market demands.
• Stock level management sees stock at acceptable levels with best prices obtained.
• Communication between managers, customers and agents (local & overseas) achieves best prices.
• When required and as appropriate the available products are offered to overseas and/or local clients/agents.
• There is full agreement with the parties concerned re docs, payment terms & shipment dates.
• The relevant parties are advised of sales orders concluded and commit accordingly.
• The requirements of the Competition Commission are met at all times.
• Networking and positive customer relationships result in reliable market intelligence.

• All export documents are carefully prepared and are perfectly accurate in all respects.
• Liaison with customers ensures agreement on documentary requirements.
• Inspections are arranged and take place exactly as planned at all times.
• The cargo is booked and loaded in good time and exactly as planned.
•  Agreed payment terms are accepted & payments are on time.  

• Liaising with vessel owners secures the agency to purchase & sell squid.
• Feedback to vessel owners highlights market conditions & achievable prices.
• Best prices are achieved and all documentation, payment terms & shipment dates agreed.
• Networking and strong customer relations provide reliable market intelligence.  

• All stock is accounted for at all times - both theoretical & physical.
• Stock is stored in an organised and logical and undamaged state.
• A minimum of two stock counts per annum verifies the exact & accurate stock levels.
• Computer generated reports indicate the type and age of stock on hand.
• Liaison with Quality Manager [on sample testing] ensures health certificates are issued.
• Orders as specified [quantity, grade, customer] are loaded in good time.
• The documentation is rapidly & accurately uploaded onto the stock system.
• All expense payments relating to exports are duly approved & accrued.
