Scrum Master

SUMMARY:
Role Purpose:

• The Scrum Master will play a pivotal role in Project Athena, managing a cross-functional team that includes Business stakeholders, the companies IT experts, and Vendor resources. This team will configure and implement a short-term insurance product on a new Policy Administration System (PAS), enabling capabilities such as product configuration, process automation, workflow orchestration, system integration, and document generation and management
• The Scrum Master will enforce Agile delivery practices, foster collaboration, and proactively remove delivery impediments to ensure quality, timely execution in line with strategic business outcomes

Key Responsibilities:
Agile Delivery and Facilitation:

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and demos
• Manage delivery cadence and sprint goals across internal and external team members
• Maintain an up-to-date and visible product backlog and sprint board (e.g., using Azure Boards)
• Promote Agile principles, transparency, and accountability within the team

• Coordinate the work of a blended team across Business, the companies IT, and Vendor streams
• Ensure alignment between functional, technical, and integration tasks across the PAS configuration lifecycle
• Work closely with the Product Owner to prioritise and deliver business value iteratively

• Proactively identify and remove delivery obstacles across the programme workstreams
• Support efficient issue escalation and resolution processes with vendors and internal teams
• Track risks, dependencies, and blockers impacting sprint commitments and delivery timelines

• Oversee delivery activities related to product setup, rating, workflows, user interfaces, document templates, system integrations, and policy lifecycle automation
• Support testing, data setup, and deployment coordination
• Ensure all deliverables adhere to quality, architecture, and compliance standards

• 5–8 years’ Project Management experience with 2+ years as a Scrum Master in Agile delivery
• Strong background in insurance systems implementation, ideally within a short-term insurance context
• Experience working with vendor-led product implementations (e.g., Sapiens, Guidewire, TIA)
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, and system integration best practices
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex transformation initiatives
• Confident in conflict resolution, prioritisation, and navigating competing stakeholder interests
• Comfortable working across Business, IT Architecture, Development, QA, and Change teams
• Proficient in tools such as Jira, Azure, and other Agile reporting frameworks

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PSM, or equivalent Agile certification (e.g., SAFe Scrum Master)
• Advantageous: Certification or experience in Agile at Scale or SAFe environments
