Sector Specialist: Manufacturing

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the role:

To support both the Listed and Unlisted teams with the generation of well researched investment ideas, industry leading sector knowledge, strategic initiatives and contribute to growth in assets under management.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

• At least 7 years’ relevant sector experience in the Manufacturing, Transport or ICT sector or as an Equity Analyst in one or more key sectors of the economy.
• Post graduate qualification in Commerce, Finance, Engineering or equivalent relevant qualification. Master’s degree/MBA/CFA would be preferred.
• Experience in undertaking research with implications for the economy and investments is
• Experience of implementing research views in portfolios would be highly
• Must possess the desire and ability to work in a collaborative and intensive team-orientated
• FAIS RE5 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Post Graduate Degree in commerce, finance or Engineering/Science

Professional Body/Association

• CFA, CA or other

Duties:

• Produce Industry leading proprietary research that generates Investment views and ideas in the Manufacturing, Transport and ICT sectors.
• Identify investment opportunities in Manufacturing, Transport and ICT
• Undertake thematic research and thought leadership pieces in manufacturing, transport and ICT sectors.
• Develop and update sector investment strategies for manufacturing, transport and ICT
• Undertake market research analysis for unlisted
• Support the deal team during due diligence process and in evaluating potential investments
• Work with senior analysts and research analysts
