Security Engineer with an interest in DevOps
You could be either a Security Engineer with an interest in DevOps or a DevOps Engineer with an interest in security - who''s interested in a joining a quickly growing company (stable industry, financial investment, new clients, lots of good stuff!).
Your role won''t be a pure DevOps Engineer role though, as the company are looking to move towards a DevSecOps way of working (which is the way the technology industry seems to be heading, so you''ll be at the forefront of this!).
You''ll have the opportunity to delve into Security-as-code principles, app security, penetration testing and infrastructure testing and ideally will have some experience of threat protections and threat modelling.
The company are looking to re-develop and improve their award-winning platform (moving away from the monolithic and into microservices) and are working with a range of modern tech (genuinely!). As a plus, the modern tech stack offers an interesting and challenging learning environment that creates employees with skills and knowledge in cutting-edge tech.
You''ll also be passionate about ensuring that the best tools and processes are being used, and happy to vocalise this - the team have set up a dedicated suggestion box for this, and genuinely follow through on trying out new ideas that can positively impact the business.
You''ll have most of the following skills/experience:
DevOps:
**AWS ideally (or other cloud platforms such as Azure)
**Automating the environments
**Containerisation - Docker/Kubernetes
Security:
**Security-as-code principles
**Implementing security features and monitoring tools
**Application security, penetration testing, infrastructure testing
**OWASP principles
**Vulnerability/compliance
**Patch management
Location-wise, you will ideally be based local to Glasgow. Right now, everything is remote, but they would ideally like someone in the office a couple days a week in the long-term. At the very least, you need to be local enough to be able to be in the office a few days every couple of months when sprints are happening.
The salary on offer is between £60,000 - £80,000. On top of this, the benefits on offer are 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), your birthday off, pension, and a discretionary bonus based on company performance.
