SUMMARY:
A leading player in the insurance sector is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong individual with a proven track record in insurance finance and a deep understanding of industry-specific regulatory and reporting requirements.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Manage monthly financial close processes, including journals, reconciliations, and ledger oversight.
Prepare and review statutory reports in line with insurance regulations and internal policies.
Liaise with auditors, actuarial teams, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
Provide support in financial modelling, analysis, and forecasting specific to the insurance environment.

Requirements:

BCom in Accounting or Finance (essential); SAIPA/SAICA articles advantageous.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Senior Accountant role within the insurance industry (non-negotiable).
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and insurance-specific financial standards.
Experience with financial systems and reporting tools used in the insurance sector.
