SUMMARY:
Lexdan Select is assisting an education NGO in their search for a senior accountant, based in Pretoria.

POSITION INFO:
Duties and responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts, and donor financial reports.
Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and donor requirements.
Support annual audits and maintain strong internal controls.
Provide financial insights to management and programme teams.
Supervise and mentor junior finance staff.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Honours or Professional Qualification advantageous – e.g., SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA).
Minimum 7 years’ experience in accounting/finance, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
Previous experience in an NGO or donor-funded environment highly advantageous.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, GRAP, and donor compliance requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, Draftworks, or similar).
