.Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement in financial processes.
- Analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports for management, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with other departments to drive financial performance and efficiency within the organization.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for daily operations and future investments.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting the accounting profession.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Financial Accounting (BCom) - Mandatory
- Completion of SAICA or SAIPA articles - Mandatory
Desired Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Senior Accountant, preferably in the packhouse industry.
- Proven experience in managing accounting functions and leading a team.
Skills and Competencies:
- Effective handling of detailed information with consistent attention to detail.
- Self-starter with a structured approach to work and highly organized.
- Ability to take responsibility, show initiative, and manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and good internal audit and risk technical skills.
- High level of integrity and excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work well within a team and exhibit strong individual functionality.
