SUMMARY:
Are you a seasoned accountant with a sharp eye for numbers and deep knowledge of reinsurance treaty structures and claims processes?

POSITION INFO:
We’re looking for a high-performing Senior Accountant ready to bring their treaty and claims handling experience to a key financial role in a leading reinsurance environment
In this pivotal position, you will take ownership of treaty accounting, manage complex claims processing, and ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with industry regulations. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, risk, and reinsurance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform and review treaty reinsurance accounting (proportional and non-proportional)
Process and reconcile reinsurance claims, recoveries, and IBNR provisions
Prepare detailed financial statements, bordereaux, and reinsurance settlements
Manage technical reserves and support actuarial inputs
Assist with audit preparation and regulatory submissions (e.g. FSCA, SAM)
Identify process inefficiencies and implement best practice improvements
Collaborate with internal departments and reinsurance brokers/partners

Job Experience & Skills Required:

BCom Accounting
5+ years in financial accounting, with at least 2–3 years in reinsurance (treaty-focused)
Strong understanding of reinsurance claims workflows and bordereaux management
Proficiency in IFRS, especially IFRS 17 (advantageous)
Solid Excel skills; exposure to SAP, SICS, or similar systems is a plus
