About the Role
The Senior Accountant is responsible for full-cycle accounting and financial oversight of multiple IT and procurement-focused legal entities. This role will build a small accounting team to support transaction processing, reporting, and controls. Ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, intercompany alignment, and compliance with corporate policies and statutory requirements, while partnering closely with IT leadership, procurement teams, and FP&A.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Close Process

Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for assigned entities
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Prepare entity-level financial statements and supporting schedules
Compliance with accounting standards (IFRS / ASPE / US GAAP as relevant)
Support consolidation and intercompany eliminations

Cash & Bank Management

Perform and review monthly bank reconciliations
Monitor cash balances and coordinate funding requirements
Investigate and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis

Procurement & IT Cost Accounting

Oversee accounting for software licenses, SaaS subscriptions, IT services, and capitalized development costs
Capitalization vs. expense treatment of technology investments
Monitor prepaid expenses, vendor contracts, and accruals

Cost Analysis & Budget Tracking

Perform detailed analysis of IT and procurement costs
Provide variance analysis with actionable insights
Identify cost optimization opportunities and process efficiencies
Support annual budget preparation and periodic re-forecasts

Intercompany & Cost Allocation

Manage intercompany billings and cost allocations across group entities
Reconcile intercompany balances monthly
Support transfer pricing documentation where applicable

Team Building & Leadership

Build, mentor, and manage an accounting team supporting assigned entities

Internal Controls & Compliance

Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting
Support external audits and statutory reporting
Coordinate with tax advisors on entity-level compliance

Requirements

BCom in relevant degree or similar
CPA designation (or in progress)
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Experience in multi-entity or shared services environments
Strong knowledge of accounting for IT and procurement-related costs
ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, etc.)
Advanced Excel skills
Demonstrated experience supervising or building teams
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Effective communicator with non-finance stakeholders
Process-driven with continuous improvement focus
