SUMMARY:
Lexdan Select is assisting a company in the aerospace industry with their search for a senior accountant, based in Stellenbosch.

This is a hybrid role

POSITION INFO:
Duties and responsibilities:

Lead and oversee month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Analyse financial data and prepare insightful reports to support decision-making.
Manage the year-end audit process, including audit file preparation and query resolution.
Take ownership of the full debtors function, including collections and stakeholder engagement.
Account for non-routine and complex transactions in line with IFRS for SMEs.
Detailed monthly stock movement and variance analysis.
Review monthly VAT reports.
Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate asset recognition in compliance with IFRS for SMEs
Review and validate multi-currency payment batches for accuracy and compliance with SARB reporting requirements.
Drive cost management initiatives, identifying efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
Partner with the Accountant to enhance and streamline daily financial processes.
Assist with ad hoc company secretarial, global expansion and regulatory compliance requirements.

Requirements:

BCom Honours in Accounting / PGDA (non-negotiable)
CA(SA) qualification (preferred)
2–3 years’ post-articles experience in a commercial or fast-paced environment (experience in manufacturing advantageous)
Demonstrated ability to apply IFRS for SMEs to complex and non-routine transactions
