Senior Accountant

Our client is seeking a confident and commercially minded Senior Accountant who is not afraid to make tough decisions, drive accountability, and partner with leadership to influence business performance.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you will serve as the financial custodian of a large operational environment, working closely with senior management and national leadership teams to drive profitability, governance, and operational excellence.

POSITION INFO:
Job Description: Lead the overall financial strategy, planning, and management of a large business unit Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives Partner with senior leadership to improve profitability, achieve EBIT targets, and support commercial decision-making Analyse monthly financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement corrective actions where required Own and strengthen the internal control environment, ensuring compliance with company policies and governance standards Lead audit processes, resolve audit findings, and ensure the timely submission of audit requirements Oversee debtors, creditors, procurement, revenue, and cash management activities to ensure financial integrity Monitor CAPEX and OPEX expenditure, ensuring disciplined budget management and optimal resource allocation Drive accountability across departments by challenging expenditure, enforcing policy compliance, and influencing financial discipline Manage financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes to ensure accuracy and completeness Lead and support operational and system improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, controls, and reporting Act as the key financial business partner to senior management, providing insight, guidance, and strategic support Skills & Experience: Proven experience in a senior accounting, finance management minimum of 2 years Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence operational and strategic decisions Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and performance management Demonstrated ability to implement and enforce robust internal controls Strong audit, compliance, risk management, and governance experience Comfortable challenging stakeholders and driving financial accountability at all levels Proven leadership ability with strong communication and relationship-building skills Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and complex environment Strong analytical capability coupled with sound business judgement Resilient, decisive, and confident in dealing with difficult conversations when required Qualification: Degree + article + 5 - 6 years' experience For more information connect with us on and Register your CV to create a profile and to view all our Financial recruitment vacancies.
