SUMMARY:
A well-established company in the financial services sector, with a strong presence in infrastructure and energy markets, is looking for a Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations across a group of companies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in financial strategy, reporting, and compliance, ensuring operational excellence within a multi-entity environment.

ð Location: Cape Town, southern suburbs
ð Job Type: Full-time | Hybrid

What You’ll Do:

â Financial Management & Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across all subsidiaries.
- Perform variance analysis to support decision-making.
- Oversee multi-currency financial management and inter-company reconciliations.
â Compliance & Taxation:
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, VAT laws, and SARS regulations.
- Monitor and manage corporate tax, PAYE, and financial reporting standards.
- Lead year-end audits and liaise with external Auditors.
â Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Drive the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning process.
- Identify areas for cost efficiency and process improvement.
â Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance finance team.
- Ensure strong internal financial controls and best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

ð Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Honours Degree preferred
ð Experience & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, IFRS, VAT, and tax compliance.
- Experience with multi-entity or Group consolidations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Sage, SAP, Pastel) and advanced Excel skills.
ð¡ Bonus Points For:
- Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms (Xero, SimplePay, Dext, and Syft).
- Knowledge of IFRS for SMEs or CaseWare Working Papers.
