Senior Accountant in Accounting/Tax Department - Durbanville

Job Specification
VAT calculations and submissions
Payroll administration of clients: management of employee data and calculation of salaries, wages, EMP deductions/contributions. EMP completions and reconciliations
Assisting with compensation fund (WCA) return of earnings (ROE) calculations, completions, and online submissions
Compile management accounts/financial statements for individuals, trusts, close corporations, and companies along with compiling/gathering relevant supporting working papers/schedules/documents
Prepare tax computations for individuals, trusts, close corporations, and companies
Assist with the administration of the tax function


Minimum Requirements
Recognised B.Comm Accounting / Financial qualification
3 years experience in an accounting/auditing firm
Membership of Professional Body (e.g. SAIPA) would be advantageous
Willing to learn and work hard with a positive energy
Bilingual - Afrikaans and English
Experience in bookkeeping up to trial balance
Experience in accounting up to the preparation of management accounts/financial statements accompanied by relevant working paper file
Proficiency in income tax relating to trusts, companies, and individuals.
Proficiency in e-filing.
Proficiency in MS Office with good working knowledge of spreadsheets
Proficiency in Pastel
Any other bookkeeping applications experience would be advantageous
Pastel Payroll knowledge would be advantageous
Any other payroll applications experience would be advantageous
Caseware experience would be advantageous
Greatsoft tax administration experience would be advantageous
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent time and priority management
Ability to work in a team and lead a team
