Our client a Global Tech firm is seeking a Senior Android Developer to join their team in Johannesburg on a contract basis. Our client offers great benefits, stability, growth and an attractive salary.

Are you fully capable of taking substantial features from concept to shipping as the sole developer?

Are you able to work closely in a team environment when you are all working on your own sections of features and they all need to merge at the end to deliver one working solution?

Your work does not necessarily need to be reviewed however it is easy to read and support after implementation.

Can you see the big picture however also understand the detail when required?

Are you able to provide material feedback on your work and how it can impact other team members?

You have good proficiency in JAVA and have developed Native Android apps?

You have at least 5-8 years of experience being a professional developer in the specific domain?

Requirements

• Relevant experience in the industries of Financial Services; Capital Markets; Share Trading
• Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
• Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Class loading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
• Knowledge of Relational Databases, SQLite, SQL.
• Experience with test-driven development
• Proven software development experience and Android skills development
• Have published at least one original Android app
• Experience with Android SDK
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
