WatersEdge Solutions is hiring an experienced Senior BI Developer to join a high-impact data science team building enterprise-grade BI infrastructure and delivering insights that matter. About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Data Science, you’ll lead the design, development, and optimisation of end-to-end BI solutions across internal and client-facing projects. You’ll define architectural standards, collaborate cross-functionally, and mentor junior team members—while leveraging modern BI tools, frameworks, and practices to unlock the power of data.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the full BI lifecycle: ingestion, transformation, modelling, and visualisation

• Build Synapse pipelines, semantic models, OLAP cubes, and Power BI dashboards

• Define architectural patterns, enforce governance, and establish scalable standards

• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements

• Stay at the forefront of modern BI technologies (e.g., lakehouse, Spark, Delta Lake)

• Optimise BI performance, troubleshoot large datasets, and implement best practices

• Support internal decision-making through reporting, templates, and ad hoc analytics

• Mentor junior developers and contribute to the evolution of the BI practice

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

• 7+ years of experience in end-to-end BI development

• Advanced Power BI expertise (DAX, templates, deployment)

• Strong SQL skills; proficiency in Azure Synapse Analytics

• Familiarity with OLAP, semantic modelling, and ETL/ELT processes

• Cross-platform BI tool exposure (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, Looker)

• Ability to translate complex business needs into actionable dashboards

• Excellent communication skills with stakeholder engagement experience

• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work independently

Nice to Have

• Microsoft certifications (PL-300, DP-203)

• Experience with Azure Fabric, Databricks, or similar lakehouse tools

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and software development best practices

• Retail, marketing, or large dataset analytics experience
