SUMMARY:
A respected legal practice based in Roodepoort, is looking for a highly experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join their busy and demanding team. This role is strictly for candidates who have previous bookkeeping experience within a law firm or the legal sector.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Managing the full bookkeeping process up to trial balance
Administering trust and business accounts in line with legal accounting rules
Preparing financial statements and management reports
Handling creditors and debtors
Reconciling bank accounts and trust accounts
Processing payroll and submitting statutory returns (UIF, VAT, PAYE)
Coordinating with auditors and other third parties
Maintaining comprehensive and accurate financial records

Minimum Requirements:

6+ years of bookkeeping experience within a legal firm or the legal industry (non-negotiable)
In-depth understanding of legal trust accounting regulations
Ability to cope in a fast-paced, high-volume work setting
Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Proficient in accounting systems such as Pastel, Xero, or similar software
Relevant financial qualification (advantageous, but not essential)
